Rachel
Silverman
Dr. Rachel Silverman is a biostatistician with expertise in clinical trial methodology with oncology applications. She earned a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where her doctoral research focused on adaptations of the novel clinical trial design, sequential parallel comparison design. She also holds a BS and MS degrees in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Johns Hopkins University, where she taught courses in mathematics, probability, and statistics.
Currently, Dr. Silverman is a Principal Scientist in Biostatistics at Merck & Co. Inc, serving as the program lead statistician for myeloproliferative disorders indication within the oncology therapeutic area. In this role, she provides strategic statistical leadership across program development, regulatory submissions, and agency interactions, while continuing to apply rigorous methodology to improve clinical research.
Additionally, Dr. Silverman is an active member of ASA and the statistical community, lecturing at Penn State University and providing mentorship to students. Outside of work, she enjoys living on a farm near State College with her family.
