About
Won Gu is a PhD candidate in Statistics at Penn State.
She received her M.S. and B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University.
Won Gu's research interests lie in statistical problems that are inherently partially identified, especially handling such problems without enforcing identifiability through untestable assumptions. Her first project introduces Sparse Bayesian Partially Identified Model for sequence count data (e.g., microbiome abundance, gene expression), which accounts for the uncertainty that arises due to missing scale measurements (i.e., total microbial load). Her second project (work in progress) investigates the theoretical implications of identifiability.
