Course Overview Section

As a time expectation, most students require 8-16 hours per week to be successful in the course. This is comparable to the resident version of the course where students meet with an instructor 4 hours per week in a classroom plus time outside of class completing assignments and preparing for exams. We find that the most successful students in this course are those who do not wait until the last minute to complete assignments and those who post questions on the discussion boards.

Students are encouraged to make a weekly schedule for themselves. Below is an example from a student whose assignments are all due Tuesday night:

Weekly Schedule Example

Weekday Activity
Wednesday Work through the assigned readings
Start the WileyPLUS assignment
Thursday Continue to work through the readings and the WileyPLUS assignment
Friday Finish the WileyPLUS assignment
Saturday Relax
Catch up / get ahead
Sunday Start the lab assignment
Monday Finish the lab assignment
Take the quiz
Tuesday Confirm that all assignments have been submitted
